The environment and people I was raised by are slipping away from me. Although my pieces seem visually different, they all strive to make something permanent out of the temporary.

I am an interdisciplinary photographer who preserves what I fear losing by referencing family memories and documenting the changes in my personal life and home. I explore the validity of memories and the people in them, most importantly what remains physically and mentally over time and distance. Through traditional photographs and new objects, I connect my past with what I have today. My work is informed by emotional experiences that need an outlet to be grieved. From my grandmother's painful death to the loss of my childhood home in North Miami, I am dedicated to creating honest work.

I rely on time-consuming work to process and guide me toward closure. My work does not depend on a specific medium but rather a shared sensitivity and emotion. Whether it be a traditional photograph as a means of documentation or an intricate book to tell a private narrative, the materials and methods I use go hand in hand with my intention. I have a background in embroidery, therefore, I focus heavily on small details, embellishing a piece with thread or pearls. However, my relationship with the photographic medium always leads me back to an image, whether it be mine or frames from my father’s VHS tapes.
